What is Android Rooting? Pros and Cons Explained

Rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control over various Android subsystems.

Plus, if you have mistakenly installed a malicious software then it will provide it a great access to them to your whole information.
4. This one may not be that special, but any of the android version that is installed on your phone will not be able to gain access to the new released version of the android OS. By other means you can update your phone but official updates will not be available to you.
What are the advantages in rooting your phone?
1. Once you have rooted your phone, then you have access to all the features of your phone that earlier you might aware of not. There are some applications available on the play store app which only works on rooted phone which can perform such tasks that you wont believe like automation of your phone, or increasing your battery life, overclocking or under clocking your processor, or increasing your sleep timing etc.
2. After rooting, you can remove some of the pre-installed apps on your phone for eg. if you have a root a Samsung phone then you can remove apps such as Samsung mall, Samsung app store and free up your storage up to a good level.
3. There are many phones which have low internal memory and for that you use an SD card. So for installing apps you might have to transfer some of the apps to SD card but some apps are transferred due to system reasons. When you root your phone, you can easily use some of the apps to transfer these to SD card which will release space. So technically you are increasing the internal memory of your phone.
4.Android ROM. (Android Read Only Memory) A file containing the executable instructions (a system image) of an Android OS and affiliated apps. The “stock ROM” comes installed on the phone or tablet, while a “custom ROM” comes from a third party or brands like Samsung, Sony, HTC, etc.They cover the android with their designed skins and we are left with no choice to use them. But when you root your phone you get access to remove these apply skins based on your mood.
